Following the murder of my brother Joe Vomvolakis in May 1986 I found myself on a journey which led me to the teachings of Eastern and Western metaphysical thought. Devastated yet deeply transformed by Joe’s passing, I gradually came to realize that his death was providing me with some of the most valuable life lessons I had ever learned. It has been more than two decades since Joe made his transition and profound insights and revelations continue to appear in my life. The collective experience has provided me with a deep and abiding respect for the healing power of love, compassion, reconciliation and forgiveness.
Today, still enthusiastically exploring my inner landscape, I am a student of the universal truth principles found in the Agape New-Thought - Ancient Wisdom philosophy.
In 1999 the progress in my evolution in consciousness was dramatically accelerated when I met my partner, Shelly Fitzsimmons. Our relationship became the basis for the Spiritual Partnership upon which our marriage was forged. Together we now find ourselves standing among a beloved community of like-minded, leading-edge, deliberate co-creators on the threshold of an evolutionary leap that lovingly invites humanity to reach its highest potential.
In 2006 Shelly and I joyfully welcomed an addition to our family, our first child, a daughter we named Kaya Kalena. Now 5 years old, and so wise and so connected to Source, Kaya consistently reminds us of how to live in the eternal "now" moment. The circle was complete when Kaya's sister, Nayelli Faith joined our family in February 2010. We love them both beyond description, and feel richly blessed and highly favored to be serving in the role of their parents in this lifetime.
My spiritual consciousness finds inspiration and has been profoundly influenced by a quarter century of study of spiritual luminaries such as Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith of the Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, Calfornia, Maya Malay of the Palm Beach Padmasambhava Buddhist Center and Abraham-Hicks.
I also resonate with the spiritual vocabulary heard in A Course in Miracles, as well as Gary Zukav’s voice in The Seat of the Soul and that of more than half a dozen heart-centered teachers and sages: Sri Aurobindo, Paramahansa Yogananda, Guatama Buddha, Krishnamurti, Dr. Ernest Holmes, Joel Goldsmith, Marianne Williamson, Jack Kornfield, Eckhart Tolle, Don Miguel Ruiz and Dan Millman.
With gratitude and appreciation I include Rev. Edward Viljoen, the staff and the community at The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, California.
Above all else, Love is my religion.
